Eat, drink & sleep on the banks of the River Tay
The Taybank is a much-loved Scottish venue famous for its spectacular riverside setting, warm atmosphere and live music. Today it’s also home to a popular restaurant and garden kitchen serving seasonal local food and drinks, one of the country's largest beer gardens, thoughtfully designed rooms and apartments, unique events and travel experiences.
What’s On
A Year at The Taybank
As nature awakens and the days grow longer, we welcome you back to our riverside gardens just in time for Easter holidays and spring gatherings.
Local musicians pack into the bar for lively Scottish trad sessions during the Niel Gow Festival and we begin hosting our first gigs in the gardens.
The walled garden bursts back to life after its winter slumber and fresh spring produce makes its way onto our menus, along with foraged wild garlic and elderflower from along the riverbank.
Families pop into the restaurant for lunch after exploring the bluebell woods, while mountain bikers enjoy pints and pizzas by the river.
Spring
Summer
With the arrival of summer, bountiful harvests from the walled garden and fresh seafood are cooked outside over fire and served at long table dinners and brunches on the riverside.
Old friends come together to enjoy cult classic films as the sun sets at our open-air cinema.
Long summer days are spent cycling on the winding country roads, wild swimming in the river then warming up with a sundowner by the firepit.
Locals and visitors dance under the stars at a summer ceilidh and at live gigs after the Birnam Highland Games.
Autumn
Autumn arrives in a blaze of colour. We savour the last warmer days outside—wandering through kaleidoscopic woods, watching wildlife and rushing waterfalls before retreating inside.
Wild local game, foraged chanterelles and the last apples from the orchard are turned into earthy dishes served in our restaurant.
Couples enjoy an intimate night listening to folk music over a bottle of wine, while groups of friends play board games in the bar. Local regulars and visiting guests compete to be crowned the winning team at our pub quiz.
Shoppers browse seasonal floral arrangements, handmade ceramics, secondhand books, clothes and bric-a-brac at our Vintage & Makers Market.
Winter
Amidst the chill of winter, we welcome the arrival of our woodfired sauna and cold plunge. Visitors enjoy a moment of calm and connection by the river, gazing out at the views of Telford’s bridge and Birnam Hill.
The festive season begins with candlelit Christmas shopping and a visit from Santa to the village. Joyful reunions take place in the bar, while families and friends gather for festive dinners in the restaurant.
We sing Christmas Eve carols with mulled drinks by the fire, and we ceilidh dance our way through Hogmanay and into the New Year.
